** Fine Remington U.S. Model 1917 Rifle
World War I
.30-06. 26" barrel. SN: 416954. Blued finish, smooth walnut pistol-gripped stock with single stock reinforcement bolt and grasping grooves. Bolt action internal magazine military rifle. Receiver marked U.S./MODEL OF 1917/REMINGTON over the serial number. {Flaming Bomb} inspection marks are present on the upper left edge of the receiver and on the top of the bolt handle. An {Eagle Head}/339 is stamped in the stock forward of the magazine floor plate and an {Eagle Head}/300 is stamped in the stock behind the triggerguard. The barrel is stamped R/{Flaming Bomb}/6-18 behind the front sight. Features include a military combination tanget peep rear sight that is graduated to 16, a front sight blade with protective ears, two sling swivels and a stacking swivel and a smooth buttplate with a nickel cleaning kit in the trap. A lovely example of a World War I production Model 1917 Rifle in a fine state of preservation.
