Markings include US/MODEL/1873 to breech cover, U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1873 to center lock, US to heel of buttplate, and V/P/{eagle head}/P to barrel. Stock markings include circle P mark behind triggerguard and octagonal boxed SWP/1884 Samuel W. Porter inspector cartouche to left side of wrist.
