**Johnson Automatics Model of 1941 Rifle
World War II
.30-06. 22" barrel length. SN: B4367. Parkerized metal refinish with polished bolt and mounting walnut semi-pistol grip stock with perforated heat shield. Short-recoil operated rotating bolt semi-automatic rifle fed by an internal ten shot rotary magazine charged with M1903 pattern stripper clips. Sights consist of an adjustable tangent rear aperture and front blade with protectors. Rear sight is graduated in METERS and not yards, as is correct for rifles of this type. The top of the receiver shows patent and model markings with the patent mark reading in five lines U.S. PATENT NOS./2,094,156-2,146,749/2,181,131-2,215,470/AND OTHER U.S. AND FOREIGN/PATS. AND PATS. PENDING. Model marking reads CAL. 30-'06 SEMI-AUTO/"JOHNSON AUTOMATICS"/MODEL OF 1941/MADE IN PROVIDENCE, R.I., U.S.A. followed by the serial number. Right receiver shows manufacturer marking CRANSTON/ARMS/CO. within a triangle. A small Dutch Acceptance {Star} marking has been struck above the Cranston marking. Barrel bushing shows the caliber marking .30-'06 and a date mark of 41. Bolt, barrel, and receiver show matching serial number markings, though the factory made no attempt to ensure all items matched during the manufacture process. The stock shows a varnished finish indicating it has been refinished, as the Johnson rifles left the factory with an oil finish.
