Lot Description
**High Quality B-Grade D.M. Lefever Crossbolt SxS Shotgun with Krupp Barrels
12 gauge. 28" barrels. 13.25" length of pull. 1.5" drop to comb. 2.75" drop to heel. Modified and improved cylinder chokes. SN: 1553. Blued metal finish to barrel and triggerguard, with a dark case hardened finish to frame and parts. Two piece figured walnut stock has multi-point checkering to Prince of Wales grip and splinter forearm, as well as checkered side panels with incised lines, floral motifs, and tear drop carvings. Break action side by side hammerless boxlock shotgun with a solid matte rib and brass bead front sight. Item features a single trigger with barrel selector, ejectors, rebounding forend release and safety toggle, and a vented rubber recoil pad. Engravings include neoclassical style borderwork, bank note scroll, floral motifs, rosette screws, tendrils, and sunbursts overall to frame and parts. Frame is also engraved with game scenes including a spaniel to left side, pointer to right side, and a mallard duck to bottom of triggerguard. Markings include D M/LEFEVER/Co./ PAT'D 1902 to bottom of frame, and serial number marked to both lower tang and inside of triggerguard. Barrels are marked KRUPP to top of right barrel, FLUID STEEL to left barrel. Underside of barrels are stamped with serial number as well as Krupp steel marks. Stock is fitted with a brass oval escutcheon to bottom edge, and a carved horn forend insert.
