Decoupaged wood soap box and group of eight papier-mâché snuff boxes circa 1810-1860
The soap box with printed label, "Ezra Wood Manufacturer Buckland Mss.", depicting Washington and Lafayette ; two snuff boxes depicting General Lafayette; one depicting the "Glorious Victory" of the United States over the Macedonia, one showing the Declaration of Independence; one with an advertisement for Henry Reill & Co.'s Celebrated Snuff and Tobacco Manufactory", another depicting a domestic scene with inscription to lid, "Lieut. Wm Betts Griffith N.Y. Vol.s 1812-1814 Born 1788. Died 1857.," a phrenological diagram, and a calendar of saints for 1853.
