A Chinese Cizhou carved-slip decorated pottery pillow Northern Song Dynasty
Of slightly curved octagonal ingot-form, carved through the creamy-white slip in low relief to reveal the darker grey-brown body; the top with peony spray and stylized clouds, the sides with stylized floral and foliate motifs, underside unglazed.
