F.A. Rinehart, Three Platinum Photographs Featuring Cheyenne and Sioux Subjects
Lot of 3 platinum photographs by F.A. Rinehart, each 7.25 in. x 9.25 in., with his 1898 or 1899 copyright at lower left. Subjects include: "No. 786 - Touch The Cloud / Cheyennes," wearing a massive headdress, bone breastplate, and intricate beadwork; "No. 867 - Swift Dog / Sioux," standing with a painted shield and what appears to be a tacked knife club or a similar weapon; and "No. 1518 - Shot In The Eye / Sioux," wearing headdress, beadwork, bear claw necklace, and holding a catlinite pipe.
