Heavily pitted lock with weak markings including a {Spread-Winged Eagle}/US forward of the hammer and HARPERS/FERRY/1848 in three vertical lines at the tail. No Harpers Ferry sub-inspection is visible on the barrel, but the small, Harpers Ferry style V/P/{Eagle Head} marks are present. Counterpane with the shadow of an illegible cartouche at the tail. Retains the correct rear sight base and front sight blade from the rifling and sighting program, with the rear sight ladder an incorrect replacement. Retains both sling swivels and a correctly dished trumpet head ramrod. Includes a reproduction sling.
