Receiver with Steyr manufacturing mark, Imperial German proofs, standard MOD 71 marking and 1874 production date. Mostly matching with all major components marked 24 or 24P except for the buttplate #629F and the upper band which is not numbered. Interestingly the buttplate screws still match. Retains ladder rear sight, front sight, bayonet lug on upper band, sling swivels and a jag head cleaning rod. A former owner's name and information are electro-penciled on the plate forward of the triggerguard. obverse butt with two "pin wheel" stamps, possibly indicating service in Siam.
