Lot Description
**Swedish Mauser M1896/38
6.5x55mm. 24" barrel length. SN: 39935. Blued metal arsenal refinish with polished bolt set in a straight wrist walnut stock with right butt showing brass plate conversion chart and G m/38 sight setting chart. Bolt-action repeating rifle fed by an internal magazine charged by stripper clips, and featuring a cock-on-close action. Sights consist of an adjustable rear leaf notch and a front blade sight. Top of the receiver is struck WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF/1900. Rifle displays the standard Swedish {Crown} inspection stamp to all major parts, along with matching serial numbers to metal components. Comes with an unmarked leather sling. Importer mark to barrel reads CAI ST. ALB. VT M38 SWEDEN 6.5X55.

Condition Report
Very Good. Bore is filled with a layer of preservative grease that should clean to Very Bright or better with sharp rifling. Bolt retains most of the polish with some gray patina forming on the bolt handle, and mottling on the extractor. Further brown patina forming on the buttplate. Blued refinish exhibits some muzzle wear with further scattered flecks and scratches overall. Stock displays some handling wear and mars with dents along the butt and wrist, along with some stains. Sling exhibits scuffs and abrasions along with some cracking.
