Lot Description
**Izhevsk Mosin-Nagant M38 Carbine
World War II
7.62x54mmR. 20.2" barrel length. SN: 3Ya4117 (Cyrillic). Blued metal finish with polished bolt in a laminated wood stock with two barrel bands and escutcheons to the sling cuts. Bolt-action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips, and mounting adjustable rear leaf notch and post and globe front post sights. Barrel shank struck with the {Izhevsk Factory} logo below a date marking of 1942, and the Soviet {Sickle and Hammer} acceptance mark. Rifle shows scattered further inspection stamps. A {Diamond} mark on the top of the receiver indicates the rifle went through arsenal rebuild. Serial numbers match on the barrel, bolt, and magazine floorplate. Lacks cleaning rod.

Condition Report
Good as Arsenal Refinished. Bore is Frosty with strong rifling throughout. Metal finish shows some oil residue on the bolt with traces of gray patina to the bolt knob. Finish on barrel shows some flecked brown patina to the right side near the muzzle. Stock exhibits scattered dents, mars, and abrasions that have been sanded down.
