Lot Description
KING, Stephen (b. 1947). Misery. New York: Viking, 1987.
8vo. Original cloth; dust jacket.
FIRST EDITION. SIGNED BY KING. Misery was written as King's response to criticism of his previous work, The Eyes of the Dragon, which he felt had been unfairly maligned by fans for not being a proper horror novel. It was later adapted into a major motion picture starring Kathy Bates, who won an Academy Award for Best Actress the following year for her performance as Annie Wilkes.
This lot is located in Chicago.
