FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE with "A" on the copyright page. In the FIRST ISSUE DUST JACKET, without the photographer credit on the rear panel. Hemingway's fourth novel takes place over 3 days in the life of the main character, Robert Jordan, who has volunteered to fight with the loyalists against the rebel army of General Francisco Franco in the Spanish Civil War.
