8vo. Numerous illustrations from photographs. Original color pictorial wrappers.
FIRST EDITION. INSCRIBED BY HERBERT in the year of publication. Hebert's Dune, was first adapted into film in 1984 by writer and director David Lynch. The film underperformed at the box office, earning it the infamous 1984 Stinkers Bad Movie Awards for Worst Picture. Despite reviews, the film developed a cult following and in 2021 the film would be rebooted, this time being a box office success, grossing over $407 million.
