with a side compartment for matches with a strike-strip inset to lid, the lid having a hardstone cabochon thumb-piece.

The Russian '56 Standard' translates to 14-karat gold.
Case appears in overall good, stable, condition. Moderate surface scratching throughout consistent with age and use. The strike-strip inside of match-safe compartment wobbles slightly but appears to be secured to underside of lid. Lid opens and closes smoothly. Additional images available upon request.
