Oil on illustration board of Frank Sinatra as Col. Joseph Ryan racing towards a train with Nazi soldiers in hot pursuit. 27 1/2 x 21 1/2".
Provenance: Merv Bloch (b. 1938), American actor and producer; acquired Heritage Auctions 11 April 2013, sale 5126 lot 78219.
Frank McCarthy was an American illustrator and artist whose poster credits include The Ten Commandments, The Great Escape, You Only Live Twice, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. He was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in 1997.
