[FLAGS]. Civil War-era 34-star American flag commemorating Kansas statehood. Ca 1861.
31 x 54 in. (sight) flag comprised of 34 hand-sewn single applique cotton stars arranged in rows of 7-7-7-6-7 on a wool bunting canton, hand-sewn wool bunting stripes. Canvas header with four small whip-sewn grommets, folded, mounted and framed. A panel on verso opens to reveal a segment of canton with 'peek a boo' stars.
