FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE with "Seymore" on p. 173 uncorrected; one of 20 copies of the first edition printed without the dedication leaf (Bixby). The two stories included in this volume were originally published in The New Yorker in 1955 and 1959, respectively. It was the third-best selling novel published in the United States in 1963.
