[MILITARIA]. 4 powder horns with accompanying artifacts from the Estate of Carroll J. Delery III.
Lot comprised of the following:
4 powder horns, ranging in size from 7 in. ln. to approx. 10 in. ln. Includes 2 decorated horns, one featuring small stars and what appears to be a rendering of a powder horn on end, the other with two six-petal flowers enclosed in circles near center and a geometric design on end.
[With:] Sword hanger marked "Savory," accompanied by tag furnished by consignor suggesting late 18th century date, although this cannot be confirmed. -- Set of antique weights housed in wooden case, approx. 2 x 4 x 6 3/4 in. -- Assorted group of more than 40 spoons, forks, and knives, including American and English examples, ca 19th-20th century (as per consignor's notes accompanying some of the utensils). Condition varies, with many showing significant wear and some damage, indicating that some may have been excavated. Includes one spoon with hallmark of William King of Charleston, SC and three (3) spoons with faint hallmark of J. Stevens of New Orleans, LA.
