Lot Description
Émile Gallé (French, 1846-1904), A group of four Art Nouveau carved mahogany and marquetry nesting tables, circa 1900
With carved and pierced foliate-form leg supports connected by stretcher bar, the tops inlaid with various woods including rosewood, macassar, ebony, oak, and fruitwoods, each depicting different floral cluster: tulips, prunus, crocus, and magnolia, three with butterfly, and each signed, "Gallé."

H: 28 3/4 in. W: 23 5/8 in. D: 16 in. (largest table)
Condition Report
overall with nice surfaces, showing expected signs of wear and mild fading, especially to feet; with some minor occasional smudges, scratches, and knicks to edges, but overall showing evidence of genuine care over time; largest table: with repaired break to each end of stretcher; second largest table: with stabilized and/or repaired break or split to foot that seems to follow inclusion in wood grain; each is stable and sturdy
