Acquired from the above by the present owners, 1975.
Note:
The present artwork is a portrait of Dr. Edwin Schorer, executed when he and his wife, Annette Otto Schorer, spent the summer of 1952 at the home of Max Eastman in Martha's Vineyard. The frame is original to the painting and was made by the Artist's wife, Rita P. Benton, and it is also accompanied by the tie that the doctor wears in the portrait. The boy in the painting is George Davis, Jr., son of Commander Davis of the United States Navy.
