(Paris): Thielman Kerver for Hughes Pageot at Dijon, October 7, 1499. 124 leaves; (a)-p8, q4. Gothic type, printed on paper. Elaborate engraved title-page with Kerver device and ornamental border; text within elaborate engraved borders throughout; 17 larger engraved minatures. Full 18th century tan calf, stamped in blind and in gilt, red morocco spine label, front and rear joints worn and starting, rubbing and wear to boards and extremities, spine ends chipped, spine dry and chipping; red stained edges; marbled endpapers; armorial book-plate of English politician John Conyers (1717-75) on front paste-down; soiling to title-page, repair bottom edge verso of same; scattered light soiling to text; intermittent short closed tears along text edges, largely at front; dampstaining in margins h7, i7, k7, l7, m7; repair in bottom fore-edge m7; q2 loose; q3 starting, repair in top corner of same, affecting some letters; repairs in corners of q4, affecting some letters. A rare incunable, being a Book of Hours for the use of Chalon-sur-Saône, printed by noted Parisian publisher and bookseller Thielman Kerver, for Hughes Pageot of Dijon. ISTC locates only seven copies, all in Europe (three being imperfect). No copies ever at auction, according to RBH.
