Researches in Asia Minor, Pontus and Armenia; with some Account of their Antiquities and Geology. London: John Murray, 1842.2 volumes, 8vo (220 x 135 mm). Half-title, numerous engraved folding maps and lithographed plates, folding fascimile inscriptions. (Lightly dampstained.) Publisher's purple blind-stamped cloth (spines damaged or perished, discreet library label). FIRST EDITION. Hamilton was Secretary to the Geological Society and this present work is an interesting travelogue with specific emphasis on archaeology, geology, and mapping.
