A Greek Marble Pyxis
Circa 5th Century B.C.
Width 7 1/4 inches (18 cm).

Provenance: 
Christie's, New York, Antiquities, 7 December 2000, Lot 451.
Condition Report
Intact as preserved. Chips to foot, lips, and lid. The exterior has evident pattern of cross-stitching; interior texture is not smooth due to tools of the era in which it was made. Slight glossy finish with brown patina. Christie's sale room sticker affixed to underside of lid. Overall in fine attractive condition.
