A Roman Marble Foot
Circa 1st-2nd Century A.D.
Height 9 inches (22 cm).
Property from the Collection of William Coles, Arizona
Provenance:
Art Market, London, 1950s-1960s; where acquired by the current owner.
Condition Report
Intact as preserved. Losses to toes with two of five intact. Breaks from original statue at ankle and underside of foot are uneven. Moderate surface wear with chips and abrasions throughout; root marks and encrustation with brown, slightly dirty patina. Elements such as the ankle bones are well preserved. Overall in stable condition.
