[CIVIL WAR - LOUISIANA]. A group of 11 photographs of Union generals, many from the Department of the Gulf, incl. W.T. Sherman, Thomas Williams, KIA Baton Rouge, and Edward Molineux.

Blessing, n.d. -- Benjamin Grierson (2), most noted for Grierson's Raid, an 1863 expedition through Confederate-held territory that severed enemy communication lines between Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Confederate commanders in the Eastern Theater. Following the war, he organized and led the Buffalo Soldiers of the 10th Cavalry Regiment from 1866-1890. First, a CDV, New York: Anthony, n.d. Second, 2 1/2 x 2 7/8 in. photograph on 3 1/8 x 4 1/4 in. Uncredited. -- Cuvier Grover. [Baton Rouge, LA]: McPherson & Oliver, n.d. -- James Grant Wilson. New Orleans, LA: E. Jacobs, n.d. August 5th 1862. -- Halbert Eleazer Paine. New Orleans: E. Jacobs, n.d. (Heavy loss to lower right.) -- George Foster Shepley. New York: E. & H.T. Anthony, 1862. Mount recto features Mathew Brady copyright. -- Christopher C. Augur. N.p.: n.p., [ca 1863]. Mount recto pencil identification reads, "Maj Gen C.C. Augur / 19th Army Corps. / Dept of the Gulf 1863." -- Together, 10 CDVs. Conditions vary, though generally fine with varying degrees of surface soil, spotting, toning unless otherwise specified.
