Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR - BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG]. The New York Daily Tribune. Vol. XXIII, No. 6,943. New York: 6 July 1863.
12pp., folio, 15 1/2 x 20 1/8 in. Disbound (some creasing throughout, partial separations at centerfold, some brittleness and chipping to edges, with "State Library" ink stamp on front page, top margin).
The newspaper contains a prominent front page “Federal eagle on a shield” graphic and “stacked” headlines, “THE GREAT VICTORY / The Rebel Army Totally Defeated / …Details of the Three Days Fighting…,” with twelve (12) columns of text covering the Battle of Gettysburg. A wonderful display issue.
