Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Enlisted McClellan Saddle with full rawhide seat, black leather side skirts, and stirrup covers. 1859.
Brass pommel shield stamped “Allegheny Arsenal 1863” with a "2" at top of shield. Pre-1863 version D-rings without flanges. Nice shape on rawhide seat, slight seam separation near rear. One leather stirrup cover has cut out for the toe, other is complete and has faint Allegany markings. Correct iron buckles on stirrup straps, and correct 1859 crupper and leather girth. Overall good to excellent condition.
