A seated portrait of a beautiful young woman wearing ornate clothing and earrings (light spotting to plate, spotting to mat; unsealed). Philadelphia: Germon, [ca 1856]. Germon's imprint and address along with the word "COPY" stamped on mat. Date and identification written on back of plate: "Taken Feb 18th 1856 / Carlene[?] A. Dohnest[?]" -- A seated portrait of an older woman wearing gold-highlighted jewelry and holding a cased image in her lap (very light spotting to image, some spotting to mat and preserver; resealed). N.p.: James M. Dow, n.d. Dow's imprint stamped on mat. -- And 8 others. -- Together, 10 sixth plate daguerreotype portraits housed together in a 16 1/4 x 8 1/8 in. pressed paper case (some wear including loss of finish throughout, mostly to edges and corners).
