Photographer's imprint and penciled notation on verso, including September 1864 or 1867 date (difficult to discern). The house was built in a series of phases from 1864 to 1923 and it was designated a Chicago Landmark in 1996. During the Civil War, the home served as a hospital for injured soldiers, and following the war, it became a home for disabled Union Army Veterans.
