Landscape view of the camp at Fort Randall, Dakota Territory, where Sitting Bull and his followers were held prisoner. Ca 1882 (creased to left side of image, with toning, soiling, and wear to edges and corners). -- Vignetted half portrait of Brulé Sioux Chief Spotted Tail wearing a federal cavalry coat. N.d. (toning, soiling, wear to edges and corners, and adhesive residue with loss to imprint on verso). Partially illegible ink inscription on mount, "Spotted Tail [indecipherable]."-- Together, 2 CDVs, each approx. 2 5/16 x 3 7/8 in. or smaller, on cardstock mounts with W.R. Cross's imprint on verso.
