Silver engraved regimental number "5" as seen in 5th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment photography.
3/4 in. engraved silver pin (dark patina, T-bar pin on verso). Provenance: Cincinnati, OH estate, attributed to a member of the 5th Ohio Infantry.
This style of regimental number has been observed in photographs of members of the regiment with the number worn above the regimental badge on the coat.
