A Federal Cherrywood Server

Mid-Atlantic States, Circa 1810

Height 32 x width 36 3/4 x depth 17 1/2 inches.

Condition Report

In overall fine and stable condition. Retaining a fairly even finish and color throughout. Appears to retain the original drawer runners. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Age cracks in areas, particularly to the drawer bottoms. The hardware, while stylistically of the period is likely replaced. Few small losses to the inlay visible. The top has shrunk, the screw holes line up, though only side screws hold the top in place as the rear holes have shifted forward, due to the this the top is not fully secured to the case. Additionally, due to the shrinkage, the sides of the top hang over about 1/2", but the front of the top is flush to the case and the rear of the top does not fully cover the rear rail. Small loss to the bottom of the proper front right foot.
