Property from the Estate of Paul B. Dombrowski, Monona, Wisconsin
Paul B. Dombrowski (1935-2021) was a collector who appreciated life as an artist, reflexively noting form and hues in anything he commented on. Paul accomplished three degrees in art, the last being a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Wisconsin. Paul spent any spare cash from early in his Buffalo, New York childhood to his last years in Madison, Wisconsin adding to his life-long collections. His first, and most fondly collected objects, were brass candlesticks, a passion that remained his entire life. He continuously honed his collection while attending high-end antique shows and seeking out galleries, shops and dealers in the Upper Midwest.
Paul delighted in cultivating friendships while also collecting art and relics from Asia, Europe, Africa, Byzantine and Native American cultures. He composed every corner of his environment as a still life, from his beloved yard and gardens to his desk tops and closets.
