A Pair of Blue and White Porcelain 'Dragon' Plates

GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908）

清光緒青花龍戲珠盤一對
each of circular form, painted on the interior with a writhing dragon reaching for a flaming pearl amidst flame wisps, the underside similarly decorated with two dragons, bearing a Guangxu six-character mark in underglaze blue and of the period.

Purchased in Nanking, China during year 1947-1948, thence by descent

Condition Report

Each charger in overall very good condition with no apparent chips, hairlines or restoration. Minor surface scratches. One charger with a few brown spots to the glaze to the interior, one charger slightly warped.
