A Louis XV Style Giltwood Mirror

Late 19th Century

Height 78 x width 48 inches.

Condition Report

The crest is sculpted from plaster/gesso/composition; it is not carved giltwood. The frame is overall made from wood with gesso and gold leaf. Sturdy, attractive condition overall with small chips / age cracks / losses to edges of some carved elements. Small sections of the decorative detail have been overpainted with gold paint. Several cracks visible along the top edge of the frame, beneath the crest.
