Printed Wool Day Dress, 1840s

Dark green wool with brown and tan leaf print day dress with tiered sleeves, gathered bodice with faux button front closure, smocked waist and full gathered skirt.

Condition Report
Condition:

The overall condition is fair with the following:
Structural Issues: The neckline cording has started to come free from its casing and there is a large rip on the left skirt with a heat patch. 
Losses: There are two top closures missing at center front, several holes throughout the skirt front nearest the opening and pocket and under each arm. The front buttons have lost some of their fabric coverings and the hem tape is worn through in multiple areas the entire length. 
Fading/Color Change: There is some color degradation under each sleeve reaching towards the front of the bodice. 
Soiling/Spots: There is some soiling noticeable under the arms and throughout the lining of the bodice, a few spots throughout the skirt, and along the neckline and sleeve hems. 
Repairs/Alterations: There are multiple repairs made throughout the dress; most noticeably on the front pocket, under the arms, left side skirt, and inner waistband.
