A Louis XVI Painted Bergère and Bout-de-Pied

Late 18th Century

Height of bergère 37 1/2 x width 28 x depth 24 inches.

Condition Report

Each section is in overall fine and stable condition, though the upholstery could use some refreshing or replacing. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Rubbing to the painted surface throughout. Areas of loss to the carved decoration consistent with rubbing. The bergere with a repaired break to base of backrest near joint with seat. The upholstery shows stains and discoloration throughout.
Overall length 64 inches.
