Lot Description
A Queen Anne Carved Mahogany Bonnet-Top High Chest of Drawers
Likely Massachusetts, Circa 1760
appears to retain the original cast-brass pulls; two finials appear original and one may be an early replacement; the bottom of the top case inscribed Bottom to the inside and the inside of the lower case backboard marked B.
Height overall 88 x width 43 x depth 22 1/2 inches.

Condition Report
In overall fine and stable condition.  Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.  Appears to retain the original drawer pulls.  Few age cracks throughout. Refinished with some parts more faded in color than the rest.  The proper front left side knee return is lacking. Each drawer appears to show a scratched Arabic numeral indicating its position within the case. The two front knee returns appear to be replaced.  Two finials appear to be original, while one appears to be replaced.  Some of the drawer runners are replaced. Drawer colors and pediment molding a different color.  The pediment and tops of each quarter column show a plugged hole.
