Lot Description

Battle of Gettysburg 50th anniversary reunion encampment souvenir pennant. 1913.

22 1/2 in. lg. wool pennant featuring blue field with gold stenciled eagle, "1913," and "SOUVENIR," bordered with red and white stripes (some light discoloration and wear to gold stenciling, vibrant colors, pennant fully intact). Vertical edge enclosed in red metal strip split at center, retaining original light blue ties. Shield-form paper label affixed at center reads, "50TH ANNIVERSARY / OUR UNITED BOYS / OF THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG” and features illustrations of a northern and southern soldier shaking hands and crossed northern and southern flags.

Provenance: Pennant purchased at the same time and from the same individual as the blanket listed in lot 36. Photocopied documentation included with lot.
