Western Great Lakes Puzzle Pipe Stem, with Inlaid Steatite Bowl
mid-19th century

ash stem having a series of geometric cutouts; red wool fringe; cowrie shell strung to buffalo hide thong; steatite bowl decorated with catlinite and pewter inlay

stem length 31-3/4 length x width 2-1/4 inches; bowl length 6-1/4 inches x height 3-1/2 inches
