Lot Description
A Japanese Cloisonné Moriage Baluster Vase
ANDO JUBEI (1876-1953), Late Meiji/Early Taisho
rising from a spreading circular foot to high shoulder; the quatrefoil-lobed body worked with pendant leaf panels enclosing bamboo, iris, prunus, and chrysanthemum. The mouth and foot rims mounted in silver, the latter stamped jujin 純銀, and signed on the white base in silver wire with the company mark of Ando Jubei above the full artist's signature 安藤製.

Condition Report
In very good, near excellent condition. All enamels intact, and free of any bruising or indentations. The silver mounts at the mouth and foot with some scattered surface scratches and marks, alongside shelfwear rubbing at the underside. The wires at the mark with regions of turquoise mineralization, with a similar deposit localized in one spot beneath the mouth rim. The interior showing soiling and a light dust layer.
