Lot Description
Three Japanese Cloisonné Vases
EARLY 20TH CENTURY
the first with the ovoid body rising with slender shoulders to a short neck with a slightly everted mouth rim, worked with a palette of purple and green enamels to show cascading wisteria above iris stalks, the underside cast with a vessel-form maker's mark; the second example having a bulbous body of pear form beneath a slender everted neck, decorated with weeping boughs of wisteria over chrysanthemum against a deep blue ground, unsigned; the third example decorated with translucent green and yellow enamels over embossed silver foil, and future worked in relief with opape flower blossoms, unsigned, together with a box and hardwood stand.
Height of tallest 9 1/2 in., 24.13 cm.

The smaller vase with minor pitting to the enamel, otherwise all in good condition with light surface scratches to the bases.
