A Gold and Enamel Decorated Snuff Box
Likely Swiss, Early 19th Century
of rectangular form with rounded corners, the lid centered with a Swiss enamel plaque of figures and cherries, the border of lid and underside decorated with light blue enamel fans alternating with rinceau and floral swag decoration on an opaque black enamel ground, the sides and underside decorated with translucent blue enamel over floral and foliate engine-turned decoration.

Condition Report
In good, stable, attractive condition. The enamel plaque on top with a 1/2-inch surface scratch to left side along figure in green dress. The guilloche enamel decoration on underside with an area of surface scratching at center. The underside of lid with approximately six small pea-sized indents. Examination under UV light does not show evidence of loss or restoration to enamel decoration. Additional images available upon request.
