Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. A group of 3 cased images, incl. tintype of a Civil War soldier and a bandsman.
Quarter plate tintype of a Union soldier sporting a mustache and beard, wearing a sack coat. (Wear to plate near mat opening, image a bit dark, but clarity remains very good.) Housed in half pressed paper case. -- Sixth plate ruby ambrotype of a young man, his lips and cheeks tinted pink, wearing a coarse frock coat with what appears to be bone buttons. He also wears a gold-tinted button on his collar. (Surface blemishes throughout the plate, clarity and contrast very good overall.) Housed in half pressed paper case (surface wear). -- Ninth plate tintype of a young, uniformed bugler seated in a studio setting, holding his bugle. (Very good clarity and contrast.) Housed in full, pressed paper case.
Together, 3 cased images.
