[CIVIL WAR]. A pair of CDVs featuring Ulysses S. Grant (1822-1885). 

Seated portrait of Grant as major general, looking off-camera. Washington, DC: Brady. Brady's imprint to mount recto and verso. Pencil identification to verso. -- Seated portrait of Grant as major general, looking toward the camera with a worn gaze, his hair somewhat askew. New York: E. & H.T. Anthony. Anthony imprint to verso, mostly obscured by affixed "Specialite" label for Selby & McCauley's Photograph Album & Carte de Visite Depot on Baltimore Street. Period ink identification on mount recto, "U.S. Grant." -- Together, 2 CDVs, each 2 1/8 x 3 3/8 in., or smaller, on cardstock mounts. Each with light toning to prints; and soiling and edge/corner wear to mounts.
