Lot Description
**Spreewerk P.38 cyq-Code with Holster and Two Magazines
World War II
9mm Para. 4.9" barrel length. SN: 1857y. Blued metal finish overall with horizontally serrated synthetic brown grips. Short recoil operated DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack eight-shot magazines with heel type magazine release. The left slide is marked P.38 with the cyq code indicating it was manufactured by Spreewerk, with the serial indicating it was manufactured in January, 1945. Rough machining overall typical of late-war produced P.38 pattern handguns. Serial numbers match on all major parts. Further markings include {Eagle/88} Waffenampt mark to the left frame, and in two places on the right slide. Standard {WWII German Eagle} acceptance proof struck into all parts with the lacking detail indicating that the die was well worn at the time the parts were struck. Comes with two magazines, including one early WALTHER banner marked example with {Circle Dot} marking, and a later model showing only P.38 marking. Comes in a black leather holster with serial number 279159 struck into the rear flap with no other visible markings.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
