**Mauser 42-Code P.08 Luger with Holster and Matching Magazine
World War II
9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 5408u. Blued metal finish overall with polished safety flag and mounting checkered walnut grips. Short recoil operated toggle locked striker fired autoloading pistol fed by detachable single-stack eight-shot magazines. Serial numbers match on all components including both grip panels and the magazine, but no number visible on firing pin. The magazine additionally displays the + mark indicating it to be the spare. Comes with one additional nonmatching aluminum base plug magazine numbered 4049m. Item shows the standard GESICHERT safety marking and GELADEN loaded chamber indicator marking. The toggle link features a number code 42 indicating it was manufactured by the Mauser factory, and additionally shows a date marking of 1939. Bore gauge reading beneath the barrel is struck 8,81. Barrel, breechblock, and slide are both struck with the {WWII German Eagle} acceptance proof. The {Eagle/63} Waffenampt marking is struck into the right slide in two places with the same struck into the base plugs of both magazines. Comes with one WWII production leather holster showing the manufacturer marking AUWARTER &BUBECK/1939/STUTTGART followed by {WWII Eagle/WaA101} Waffenampt mark that contains a Luger pattern takedown tool. Item additionally accompanied by a modern reproduction holster with reproduction takedown tool.

Condition Report
Very Good. Bore is dirty with some firing residues that should clean to Very Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish shows a plum color over barrel extension. Metal finish shows some light scratches on the gripstraps. Further light scratches over the barrel and barrel extension. Magazines show some insertion wear. The grips have handling wear, some stains, and some skips. World War II holster shows scuffs, abrasions, and stains overall with some scratches and scuffs on the edges. Reproduction holster shows few light mars and scratches.
