Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Quarter plate tintype and ambrotype of standing Union soldiers. 

Quarter plate hand-tinted tintype. (Some cracking to surface, soft focus.) Housed in a Rare patriotic union case, Union and Constitution 2 [Berg 1-188] (chip to upper edge, hinges a bit loose). An unknown infantry private "enhanced" by the photographer (or colorist) with gilded cuff and collar braiding added. -- Quarter plate ruby hand-tinted ambrotype. (Heavily colored, plate in soft focus.) Housed in full pressed paper case with floral motif (very minor wear to extremities). Full standing studio portrait of unknown youthful artillery private.
