Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. A group of CDVs and photographs of generals, non-commissioned officers, including a Petersburg bridge by Rees.

Outdoor image of a railroad bridge. Petersburg, VA: C.R. Rees, n.d. 9 1/8 x 7 1/2 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (loss to upper corner, tear at upper edge, toned). Photographer's imprint to mount recto. -- Three-quarter length portrait of General Winfield SCOTT. New York; J. Gurney & Son, n.d.  Albumen CDV. -- Full-length standing portrait of a corporal, tentatively identified as Enoch (Enauk?) Boggess of the 91st Ohio Infantry, WIA at Opequan, VA, 19 September 1864. N.p.: N.p., n.d. Albumen CDV. Ink inscription to mount recto reads "Enauk? Bogges." -- Full-length portrait of an unidentified naval officer. N.p.: W. Dyer, n.d. Albumen CDV. -- Outdoor photograph of a veteran identified as Gilbert "Gib" Pulver standing by a house used for mustering during the war. N.p.: N.p., n.d. 6 15/16 x 5 in. silver gelatin photograph (loss to upper edge, creasing). With contemporary pencil inscription identifying the locale and Pulver with his regiment designation in Co. K of the 34d Iowa Infantry. Records indicate that he was enlisted as a sergeant on 21 May 1861, was promoted to first sergeant on 1 December 1861, WIA (severely in the shoulder) at Shiloh on 6 April 1862, transferred to Co. G of the 23rd Veteran Reserve Corps on 15 February 1864, and mustered out on 10 June 1864 in St. Louis, MO. -- And 2 others. Together, 7 photographs, condition generally good, except as noted.
